Duties:

• Project Manager I is responsible for the performance of several small to medium sized technical projects, several moderate sized projects, or a definable portion of a larger project or program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Directs and supervises support resources for the performance of project assignments and activities.
• Manages the technical direction of a project through the design, implementation and testing in accordance with project objectives.
• The candidate is required to use CE's PPM tools to review project work plans, issues, risks, and dependencies.
• The candidate will produce status reports, conduct status meetings, and facilitate issue resolution and risk management sessions.
• Developing presentations and identifying process improvement opportunities.
• This position will report to the IT PMO and will not be managing projects.
• PMO activities include reporting, performing Health Checks/Gate reviews, interfacing with multiple delivery portfolios and non-functional groups, and working with the rest of the PMO team to ensure all projects are on track.

Skills:

• Excellent planning skills using industry planning applications (i.e. Clarity/CA PPM, Microsoft project)
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills
• Ability to resolve complex technical issues
• Ability to manage, coordinate, guide a project team of technical professionals
• Good leadership skills
• Ability to manage moderately complex projects
• Good negotiation skills
• Ability to work well with mid to senior management
• Five or more years in IT related project management, planning and scheduling medium sized projects
• Scheduling/planning/management across multiple small to medium sized teams.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or related field
• PMI/Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
• Demonstrated ability in managing projects of moderate size and complexity.
• Working in a project management office (PMO)
