Lease Operator - Oil & Gas – Troup, Texas Faulconer Energy LLC, a well-respected, growing, and privately-owned Independent Texas Oil & Gas Company with over 40 years in the industry, as the result of an upcoming retirement, has an opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented Lease Operator located in our Overton East Field Operations. Position performs a key role in the daily inspection, operational monitoring, and reporting on assigned wells and facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs daily inspections of assigned oil and gas leases.
- Gauges and reports daily production of oil and water in storage tanks and coordinates hauling as required. Responsible for daily gauge input and verification.
- Reads gas meters, charts, and performs calculations for reporting daily produced gas volumes.
- Monitors and records daily plunger runs on all non-automated wells.
- Inspects plungers, sample catchers and performs gauge ring tests on a bi-monthly basis on all plunger lift wells. Reads, records and reports tubing, casing, and SCG pressures on assigned wells.
- Inspects pipelines, valves, gauges and flanges to detect malfunctions.
- Operates intermitter controllers, pumping units, natural gas compressors, separators, refrigeration plants, JT plants, dehydrators, and generators, Triplex pumps, gas operated centrifugal pumps and pneumatic pumps.
- Conducts daily readings and reporting on assigned compressors.
- Makes repairs to control valves and pilots and separation equipment.
- Reports lease deficiencies and other operational problems to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Oversees the operation of artificial lift equipment, such as down hole pumps, plunger-lift, gas lift, gas assist plunger lift, foamer pumps and capillary strings.
- Performs mechanical troubleshooting on all equipment as required.
- Inspects each location and repairs or makes recommendations for repair to supervisor.
- Initiates, maintains and manages project lists for each lease as needed.
- Proficient in the start-up and operation of each lease and its associated surface equipment.
- Perform rotational work schedule that may require duties be performed on the weekend. Due to nature of work may be subject to call out or an “on call” schedule on a 3–4-week rotation.
- Responsible for maintaining required housekeeping on assigned lease sites and Company vehicle.
- Focal point for optimizing production on assigned wells. Works with optimizer and utilizes production report to schedule daily repairs.
- Reports to the respective field Production Foreman.
Required Qualifications:
- Five (5) years’ Lease Operator Oil and Gas experience with good working knowledge of all surface production equipment and well automation.
- Previous experience optimizing wells utilizing well automation is desired.
- Recent Lease Operator experience is highly desired.
- Knowledge and skills to operate artificial lift equipment, such as plunger lift, down hole pumps, programmable controllers, and pumping units.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on all oil and gas surface production equipment.
- Previous work experience with compressor operations desired.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with members of small and large teams.
- Ability to climb stairs, vessel ladders and work at heights up to 25 feet.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to effectively utilize Internet/E-mail in performance of job responsibilities.
- Previous experience with P2-Carte/ZD or equivalent reporting programs preferred but not required.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
