Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute seasonal merchandising strategies across multiple product categories, ensuring cohesive assortments that meet both wholesale and DTC business objectives with a focus of key strategic growth tied to revenue drivers
- Partner with Design and planning to inform product development through market analysis, historical performance data, and emerging trends
- Collaborate with Production to optimize buy depths, lead times, and inventory flow to maximize sku productivity
- Work closely with Sales to create compelling wholesale assortments and programs that drive growth while maintaining brand integrity
- Partner with Planning to establish and achieve financial targets, including sales, margin, and inventory productivity goals
- Lead and track implementation of assortment plans across categories and channels; analyze product performance, market conditions and feedback from customers continuously; update assortment strategies and identify and execute opportunities based on analysis
- Lead presentation of line to senior colleagues and key accounts and buyers; direct review meetings, including edits, board review, pre-costing, line reviews, adoption and post-season reviews
- Partner with Design, Production and Sales to ensure execution to time-and-action calendar and timely delivery of goods, sales growth, expense management and attainment of margin goals; collaboratively identify and resolve quality and technical issues; direct category forecasting and ensure progress toward established financial goals; motivate teams to achieve metrics
- Analyze business performance metrics and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks
- Manage go to market strategy including NuOrder, seasonal big ideas and key messages
Skills & Requirements:
- Experience and understanding of wholesale apparel merchandising, manufacturing, global supply chain operations, and mass market distribution
- Entrepreneurial drive tempered by judgment and strong leadership skills
- Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; experience managing and motivating teams
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative
- Creativity, sensibility for merchandising and customer needs
- Knowledge of garment construction
- 7 - 10 years of experience in apparel merchandising or buying; significant relevant experience in categories; previous responsibility as Senior Merchandiser or as MM
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, proficiency in SAP preferred
