Litigation Legal Assistant - Seattle
Do you shine in a fast-paced environment, effortlessly blending professionalism with a smile? FAVROS|LAW is looking for a full-time legal assistant to be part of our Seattle office team. Ideal candidates will have experience in a civil litigation law firm with a variety of practice experience (insurance defense, personal injury and licensure) and will possess recent experience with full cycle management of civil litigation cases, from inception through settlement or trial, with trial experience being a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the intake process for new clients or matters including opening/closing of files.
- Maintain motion and general case deadline calendaring.
- Draft correspondence and pleadings.
- Review and distribute incoming mail and save to document management system.
- Process case-related invoices.
- Maintain electronic files and occasionally paper files.
- Coordinate meetings and lunches.
- Collaborate with legal support team to provide overflow assistance as needed, including scheduling of depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or service of documents and correspondence as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant; experience in insurance defense a plus.
- Demonstrated litigation skills with strong knowledge of State and Federal Court rules in Washington state; experience filing in other states a plus.
- Excellent working knowledge of legal documents.
- Experience with e-filing and paper filing where needed.
- Strong computer skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office as well as document management and accounting platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, follow-up and case management skills.
- Ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage large caseload, from inception through trial/settlement.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work with remote team members and utilize strategies such as MS Teams, email and phone to maintain reliable and constant communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a team.
- Must be able to maintain exceptional attendance and punctuality.
We Offer:
A highly competitive base salary ranging from $60-70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
A comprehensive benefits package including potential for annual bonus, health and dental benefits, parking or commuter benefits, paid time off, and 11 paid holidays per year.
After one year of employment, employees are eligible for our 401(k) plan with a firm contribution of 7% of salary.
A hybrid work environment, allowing for flexibility in remote and in-office work arrangements. Standard on-site requirements are 2 days per week; occasional need for more on site days (typically during trial or other high volume work).
