Reporting to FMS Leadership, this position is responsible for proactively soliciting new residential mortgage business and selling correspondent and approved brokered mortgage products to meet loan quality and production goals. This ongoing sales role generates new business through personal networking, self-sourced referrals and company-provided leads. This position works closely with internal customers, including affiliate referrals, to educate and assist borrowers in the refinance and purchase loan application process.

Additionally, this position is responsible for conducting borrower interviews, analyzing financial and credit data, determining financing objectives, advising on product eligibility and pricing, and collecting necessary documentation. This role delivers exceptional customer service and ensures full compliance with federal and state regulations, including HDMA, while maintaining a high level of integrity throughout the loan process.

Core Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Solicit and develop new residential mortgage business to meet sales goals, leveraging internal affiliate referrals and self-sourced leads to drive loan production.
  • Build and maintain referral relationships with real estate agents, financial professionals and past clients.
  • Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers to assess financial needs and creditworthiness.
  • Provide expert guidance on loan structures, pricing and available product options, educating customers on how different mortgage solutions align with their long-term financial goals.
  • Assist borrowers in completing the loan application process for both purchase and refinance transactions.
  • Evaluate credit, income and asset documentation to determine eligibility.
  • Proactively manage a loan pipeline, ensuring a smooth process from application to closing.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with borrowers, setting proper expectations throughout the process and ensuring timely follow-ups to borrower inquiries.
  • Partner collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customers receive a seamless lending experience.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of borrower-sensitive information, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics and integrity in all business dealings.
  • Adhere to all federal, state and company compliance policies, including HDMA requirements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of lending programs, underwriting guidelines and market trends, continuously expanding knowledge of new loan products and program updates to better serve customers.
  • Develop domain knowledge of Fay’s business to include an understanding of organizational objectives.
  • Develop positive working relationships within the team and across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with Fay’s policies, processes and practices. Successfully complete all department and company required training.
  • Model Fay’s Values, Operating Principles, ethical standards, professionalism and code of conduct.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that align with Fay's Values and Operating Principles.

Qualifications Required:

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance preferred
  • Active NMLS license required, with multiple state licenses preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in mortgage originations
  • Demonstratable ability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate to drive new business
  • Prior experience working with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), preferably Encompass
  • Solid skills and experience in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30,000.00 per year
