Education & Experience Required:
· High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· Customer service experience desired; Library experience preferred
· Background checks, drug tests, and reference checks required
Under the general supervision of the Library Director, the Library Clerk provides quality customer service, programming and performs general library duties.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Provides reference, adult and juvenile services
· Maintains computerized patron accounts; prepares and issues library cards
· Required to work at other branch library locations and on bookmobiles when needed and at short notice
· Maintains knowledge of available materials and patron reading preferences
· Maintains familiarity with various technologies including our online catalog, digital devices, Microsoft Windows, Internet, online databases, and email
· Assists in organizing library materials, which includes shelving, shifting, and weeding
· Assists with library programming as assigned
· Interacts appropriately with patrons and staff and adheres to library guidelines and procedures
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
· Must have a valid West Virginia Driver’s License, reliable transportation to and from work, and proof of auto insurance
· Knowledge of adult, children, and young adult literature
· Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
· Able to work independently and with others
· Able to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings and Saturdays

Expected hours: 20 – 34 per week
