Job Description

OBJECTIVE: Individual serves the public through effective implementation of federal/state regulations; Provides a wide range of casework services to children and families.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Primary duties include a wide range of casework services to children and families.  These duties may include any combination of any of the following:

  • Receiving, documenting, and screening allegations of child abuse/neglect.
  • Investigation and/or assessment of child abuse/neglect referrals;
  • Maintenance of a caseload of families/children who require protective assistance;
  • Provision of adoption and post adoption services to children and families.
  • This position requires extensive travel

Additional duties required based on functional job description include receiving and documenting allegations of child abuse/neglect and sharing with teammates in 24/7 on-call rotation.

The employee must possess the skills and ability to cope with diverse environments, health hazards and personal safety issues, including aggressive behaviors

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human services field.   Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:   Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the County’s vehicle insurance policy.  Employee will be responsible to drive own motor vehicle and may be required to travel, within and/or beyond the county or state limits

Core Hours:                                         Monday-Friday 7:00-5:30, non-traditional work hours and on call rotation

Salary Range:                                       Pay Range 8  $20.87 - $26.05

Employees of the court are at-will employees and serve at the pleasure of the court; they are not in the classified civil service system and are not members of bargaining units.
