Lead Estimator – Industrial, Large Ag, Livestock Construction

BG Supply is a rapidly growing building supply leader supplying building packages to large scale agricultural and industrial construction projects. We’re seeking a Lead Estimator to fuel our growth strategy. This is a remote position, located ideally in the Midwest.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a market leader with Livestock facility experience that can guide the estimating process for our rapidly growing building package supply division. We are looking for an individual that can review project requirements, anticipate unique scope and schedule demands, build relationships with contractors and produce complete, accurate, competitive bid packages while meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead pre-construction efforts and develop estimates for livestock from conceptual ideas or drawings.
- Prepare estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Properly identify project scope of work and assist purchasing department with sourcing unique project requirements.
- Mentor junior estimators in industry knowledge and project scope for livestock construction.
- Ability to construct estimate structure to meet request for proposal (RFP)
- Capable of answering contractor questions and negotiating with contractors on a timely basis
- Oversee the development of multiple projects
- Relationship building with potential clients and vendors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural or Construction related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of Large Ag facility experience.
- Experience working with large livestock producers and/or contractors to optimize facility operations is strongly preferred.
- Must have excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, verbal, written, and follow-up skills
- Microsoft office proficiency (including Word and Excel)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Embrace teamwork with a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills and has an overall pride in quality of work
