Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of land surveying projects in support of engineering and energy-related developments. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership and project management skills, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and compliant survey deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end survey projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and final reporting
- Supervise and coordinate field crews and survey activities across locations
- Collaborate with internal teams and branch offices to ensure project efficiency and prioritization
- Utilize Carlson Survey CAD and GIS software to analyze and manage geographical data
- Prepare and maintain project schematics and ensure deliverables meet regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws related to surveying practices
- Mentor and train junior survey staff in technical skills and best practices
- Communicate with clients, validate survey results, and ensure timely, accurate submissions
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in land surveying
- Proficiency in Carlson Survey CAD and GIS software
- Strong understanding of federal and state surveying regulations
- Experience in managing field crews and coordinating multi-location operations
- Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- WV Professional Surveyor License (additional state licenses are a plus)
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including road design, well pad layout, and ALTA/boundary surveys
- Strong client relationship-building and team leadership abilities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
