What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX Lead Supervisor position at FCA?
The UX Lead Supervisor oversees and coordinates the UX Lead team members. They are the interface of the cockpit user experience (UX) to the customer and are responsible for the implementation of the "voice of the customer" in the technical requirements for the development of HMI & UX concepts in the vehicle.
The UX Lead Supervisor is responsible for leading the definition and clarification of new ideas through user stories to define macro control allocations / functional grouping, appropriate input modalities and corresponding feedback, zoning, and wire framing. They combine design and engineering principles to create functional products that people love to use.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Manages team’s daily activities, ensuring alignment and consistency of message within the team while tracking status to milestones and deliverables
Helps establish and follow Advanced UX processes, in alignment with key stakeholders (i.e. SWXP, PFDI, etc.)
Makes complex scenarios simple and approachable to basic consumers, while at the same time interesting and compelling for power users
A critical thinker and problem solver
Works with the cross functional team to envision and design a variety of solutions, scenarios, and interaction models
Uses software tools to create frameworks that capture user requirements, corporate best practices, and feasibility inputs and visualize them as templates/frameworks which can be handed to developers to be modeled & tested
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in the technical field of UX Design (e.g., Human Factors, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Ergonomics, Computer Science, Product Design, Graphic Design, User-centered Design) or comparable education
5 years of professional work experience in the field of Ergonomics and Human Factors, UX design/research
Thorough understanding and experience with user-centered design processes and a deep expertise in interaction design methods, processes, tools, and best practices
Proven leadership passion and experience
Experience in working within an agile development process
Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, new interaction models, apps, and excellence in strategic/critical thinking
Must possess strong communication skills to all levels of management (both written and oral)
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
Detail oriented, team player, flexible, ability to prioritize, quick learner
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree in Design (e.g., Human Factors, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Ergonomics, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, Product Design, Graphic Design, User-centered Design)
Experience in automotive, consumer electronic design, or ergonomic related fields
Prior experience with customer interfaces incorporating increasingly new technology
Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) is a big plus
