JOB SUMMARY:
Processes new and renewed consumer installment loans and home equity loans.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Produces accurate loan documents through an automated documentation system.
- Ensures collateral is collected and lien perfection is complete.
- Reviews documents for quality and regulatory requirements.
- Reviews files to certify that all loan policy and procedures are being met.
- Sets up and organizes loan documents in a standardized file format.
- Ensures that loan documents are produced in a timely manner.
- Completes pre-booking on computer system.
- Performs departmental duties as required to maintain adequate workflow.
- Performs other tasks, functions or duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED:
- Communication skills: oral, written and listening
- Organized and possess the ability to manage time and meet deadlines
- Methodical, accurate and detail-oriented
- Teamwork – contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Working understanding of the banking industry, regulations, policies and best practices
- Working knowledge of bank products and services, consumer installment loan documentation, home equity loan documentation and regulatory requirements
- Quick learner, adaptable and effective at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks
- Ability to work under pressure
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (preferred)
- 1 – 3 years banking experience (preferred)
- 1 – 3 years loan processing experience (preferred)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Constantly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculators and fax machines.
- Availability to work during core banking hours (i.e. Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm). Additional hours may be required, including evenings and weekends.
- Occasionally requires local travel including offsite training, meetings.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee regularly is required to lift up to 15 lbs. and occasionally required to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced, changing environment and maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures and written instructions, as well as verbal instructions or directions from their supervisor.
- Regularly remains in a stationary position.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
