What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at FCC Behavioral Health?
Job Purpose
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the oversight of all monthly and annual general ledger audits. In addition, the Staff Accountant will assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with budgets, internal/external audits, financial reporting, custom report creating and cash distributions.
Qualifications
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or other related field associated with Finance/Business.
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a business environment with Accounts Payable and audit related duties.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills to deal with staff, outside agencies, etc.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to meet fiscal deadlines.
Core Job Duties
- Act as a liaison between program sites, staff, vendors and the Controller regarding issues that may interfere with accurate processing of accounts payable and audit requirements.
- Maintain Fixed Asset system, including Fixed Asset reporting.
- Audit General Ledger accounts associated with external fiscal year-end audit reporting and internal month-end reports.
- Assist Controller with preparing fiscal year-end audit reports in preparation of external auditor review.
- Monitor accounts payable activities and processes; compile monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting.
- Maintain spreadsheet of PATH activities for internal/external reporting.
- Responsible for all bank account reconciliation reports and custom financial report development.
- Responsible for Butler County Housing Development (PB-811) monthly reporting.
- Responsible for monthly payroll, credit card and accounts receivable interface to General Ledger; report any suspected fraud or abuse issues to the to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and/or the Executive Team.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.

Salary : $47,000 - $61,900
