Our start as a grassroots, small group of committed individuals began in 1986. We have expanded and grown to an increasingly bold and empowered agency that advocates for change while supporting survivors in Orange and Sullivan Counties in N.Y.
To build an informed, just, and accountable society so all people can experience supportive and safe relationships free from abuse, exploitation, and oppression. We do this through education, prevention, advocacy, and providing comprehensive services, including shelter, to victims and survivors of interpersonal violence, human trafficking, sexual violence, and other types of crime victimization.
The High-Risk Case Specialist is primarily responsible for facilitating the Risk Reduction Response Program within Orange County. They provide empathic, nonjudgmental support and direct services to victims/survivors of intersecting forms of violence and abuse around needs arising from, but not limited to, intimate partner violence, human trafficking, teen dating violence, sexual violence, and other types of crime victimization through community partner referrals, the agency crises hotline, or Family Justice Center Program. The High-Risk Case Specialist works with agency leaders, community partners, clients, and agency teams to develop and implement effective strategies to serve victims and survivors. In addition, they focus on identifying, developing, creating, and maintaining opportunities and relationships to enhance collaboration with Law Enforcement partners and program projects that support advocacy work within the R.R.R. Program and other Fearless! intervention and prevention initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING ALONG
Bachelor's Degree in a Criminal Justice discipline or related field or equivalent experience.
Three years of Direct Service experience in the Human Service discipline preferred or demonstrated progressive leadership responsibilities.
Valid Driver's License, Auto Insurance, and reliable transportation to travel between the agency's office sites and other locations throughout the service region.
Physical demands include but are not limited to long periods of sitting, standing, walking, driving, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating stairs.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In partnership with the Program Supervisor and Director, facilitate the ongoing implementation, coordination, and training/technical assistance needs of the Risk Reduction Response Program within Orange County, including the participating police department, district attorney's office, and probation.
Assist the Program Manager with creating, reviewing, and managing programmatic policies, procedures, and best practices concerning the R.R.R. Program.
Work closely and collaboratively with appropriate leadership to understand and accomplish position responsibilities.
Support the collection and processing of data and information to meet program requirements and to inform and support decision-making. Prepare and submit required reporting promptly and without error.
Provide programmatic support and guidance for agency staff and program partners to ensure optimal client service.
As needed, offer program coverage support to respond and support victims and survivors engaged with law enforcement due to domestic violence, commercial sexual exploitation, and trafficking.
Maintains current knowledge of best practices and oversees ongoing professional development and required certification, ensuring a commitment to high-quality, innovative service delivery.
Actively participate in regular supervision sessions with the Program Manager and Director to ensure adequate performance supports the achievement of identified programmatic and professional goals and the highest quality of direct service for clients.
Actively engage in program-specific team meetings and agency-wide staff meetings.
Assist the Program Manager with coordinating and planning awareness month activities and agency events for clients, including actively promoting and participating.
Contribute toward fostering inclusive and supportive work environments throughout the agency.
Facilitate the ongoing implementation, coordination, and training/technical assistance needs of the Risk Reduction Response Program within Port Jervis in partnership with the Police Department, District Attorney's Office, and Orange County Probation.
Provide training on the Lethality Assessment tool to the Police Department, Orange County District Attorney's Office, Orange County Probation, and other community partners.
Collaborate with the Program Manager to compile, develop, and evaluate Risk Assessment tools.
Research and maintain a working knowledge of emerging issues related to domestic violence, especially intimate partner violence, and homicide prevention
Conduct training and educational discussions regarding the agency's mission, services, methodology, and program impact as requested.
Actively participate in case consultation and sharing expertise to promote system change that centers accountability around perpetrators of abuse.
Maintain regular communication with the program's core partners by email, phone, and in-person meetings.
Provide follow-up contact with individuals who screen in as high risk; Conduct Danger Assessment, engage in safety planning, and ensure connection to ongoing services, as appropriate.
Provide culturally-informed, trauma-responsive crisis intervention and nonjudgmental, supportive, comprehensive services to clients, including, but not limited to, assessments; intakes; individual and group supportive counseling; advocacy and accompaniment; follow-up contact, as safe and appropriate, and outreach; and information and referrals.
Provide clients with information regarding the N.Y.S. Office of Victims Services, assist with filing applications for OVS compensation, and serve as a liaison between clients and OVS.
Provide on-call advocacy outside of traditional business hours, as scheduled.
Maintain the highest levels of accuracy in recordkeeping and reporting, ensuring that all client records and documentation of work activities are up-to-date and completed promptly, as directed.
Ensure timely response and follow-up to email communication and voicemail messages.

Proactively monitor the overall condition of the agency and ensure the maintenance of a clean, welcoming environment for individuals accessing services.
