The Medical Assistant/Front Desk professional plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of a healthcare office, providing both administrative and clinical support to ensure smooth and efficient patient care. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Administrative Duties (Front Desk):
- Greet and check in patients as they arrive at the facility.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the office calendar.
- Verify patient information, update medical records, and obtain insurance details.
- Collect copayments, process payments, and handle billing inquiries.
- Manage patient flow and notify medical staff when patients are ready for their appointments.
- Assist with patient check-out, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing any necessary instructions or forms.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized reception area.
- Handle patient complaints and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure compliance with all privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) regarding patient information.
Clinical Duties (Medical Assistant):
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and updating health records.
- Assist physicians during patient exams, procedures, and other clinical tasks as required.
- Administer injections, vaccinations, or other treatments as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Maintain and clean medical equipment and ensure the clinic or office is properly stocked with necessary supplies.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and treatment in electronic health records (EHR).
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification preferred (e.g., CMA, RMA).
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of office software and medical billing software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Must be Bilingual!
