We are seeking a skilled Proposal Writer / Solution Architect to join our business development team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and exceptional writer who can transform technical concepts and customer requirements into compelling, compliant, and persuasive proposal content. The ideal candidate is a storyteller with a strong grasp of solution development—able to articulate value propositions, technical approaches, and win themes in support of government or commercial proposal efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with capture managers, SMEs, and technical staff to develop, articulate, and write tailored solutions in response to RFPs, RFIs, and other solicitations.
- Write clear, engaging, and technically accurate proposal content, including executive summaries, technical volumes, management approaches, past performance narratives, and staffing plans.
- Translate complex technical ideas and strategies into language that is easy to understand for evaluators and decision-makers.
- Ensure all written content is compliant with solicitation requirements and aligned with win strategies and evaluation criteria.
- Participate in solutioning sessions, storyboarding, and content planning to frame responses around customer needs and pain points.
- Support pink team and red team reviews, incorporating feedback and ensuring consistency, clarity, and quality of written materials.
- Develop and maintain a library of reusable content and proposal writing tools/templates to improve efficiency and quality over time.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices in proposal writing, and customer mission areas.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Business, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience writing proposals for government or commercial clients, with a focus on technical and management content.
- Strong understanding of the proposal lifecycle, particularly in writing phases (from content planning through production).
- Ability to rapidly synthesize information from multiple sources and create cohesive, persuasive narratives.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and PowerPoint); experience with proposal collaboration tools a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with federal acquisition processes and major contract vehicles (GSA, IDIQs, GWACs, etc.).
- Background in professional services, logistics, IT, or other technical domains.
- Experience supporting large, complex, multi-volume proposals.
- APMP certification or training a plus
