OSW Equipment & Repair, LLC, a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, is the largest truck body and trailer manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. OSW’s main facility is located in the Maltby area in Snohomish County. OSW and has been in business for over 20 years and has branches in Edmonton, Canada and Tempe, Arizona.
As a Maintenance Technician on our growing team, you are responsible to maintain and repair buildings, grounds, and equipment. Areas of work include machinery, plumbing, heating, wiring, Preventive Maintenance, as well as identifying, planning, and scheduling major repairs. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities.
- Ensure assigned facilities and equipment are ready for regular business and special events.
- Utilize and maintain Preventive Maintenance programs and provide feedback on the avoidance of malfunctions in equipment.
- Identify and repair malfunctions on production facility and equipment including (but not limited to) electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning.
- Prepare equipment and facility maintenance progress or status reports.
- Manage construction activities.
- Recommend purchases of materials, equipment, or other resources.
- Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on a timely basis.
- Participate in requisition maintenance parts and supplies, providing recommendations for appropriate materials.
- Work closely with production and management to identify and improve equipment and production processes / flow through process improvement activities.
- Maintains a clean working environment and work area
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of welding equipment and weld processes
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.
- Ability to maintain basic records and warranties.
- Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Works well independently and with others.
- Strong communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to self-motivate while working in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of related work experience and training, or a combination of higher education and experience.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
- Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.
Additional Job Information:
- Wage Expectations: $18 - $23 per hour
- Pay: This is a non-exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis
- Typical Schedule: Five (5) Eight (8) hour days M-F
- Location: On Site – 20812 Broadway Ave; Snohomish, WA 98296
- Travel: Very minimal to none
