What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Cycle Count Spe position at Federal Signal?
Reporting directly to the Inventory Control Lead, the Inventory Cycle Count Specialist is responsible for counting, reconciling, recording cycle counts, and researching the origin of any count discrepancies. Move inventory and reorganize shelves/ locations as required. Identify and report damaged products when encountered. The Inventory Cycle Count Specialist is self-sufficient, needs minimal supervision/direction, makes the decisions, solves the problems, and thinks outside the box while leveraging new technologies. Possessing a “can-do” attitude, the Inventory Cycle Count Specialist has an innovative spirit and uses his/her knowledge/experience to come up with newer, better, and more cost-effective ideas.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Confirm parts are accurately labeled.
- Manually count large quantities of parts with extreme accuracy
- Record actual count with the Inventory System
- Identify root cause of discrepancy and report findings daily.
- Identify process improvement opportunities that will increase inventory accuracy.
- Report damaged product to the department when encountered.
- Move inventory by hand, pallet jack, and “Big Joey”.
Education, Skills, and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 3 years previous work experience in cycle counting or inventory control position.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Strong math skills
- Good computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Must be able to operate a pallet jack and Joey.
- JDE experience a plus
- Good organizational skills
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Keep work area and department clean, neat, and orderly.
- Able to work both quickly and accurately.
- Attention to details – labels, paperwork, quantities, part numbers, etc.
- Self – motivated
- Ability to work without distraction or continuous supervision with a high level of concentration.
PPE Requirements:
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Steel-toe boots and/or ESD Equipment
- Gloves
Wage Range: $17.32/hr - $22.00/hr
