What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Accountant position at Federal Signal?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the following monthly activities:
- Prepare and post assigned journal entries in an accurate and timely manner.
- Upload financial and supplemental data to our Corporate Office via Unicom.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations. Identify and resolve all reconciling items.
- Responsible for fixed asset accounting activities and maintaining fixed asset data in BNA software.
- Assist in the development of the SOX controls and audits.
- Assist with both SOX and financial audits performed by internal and external auditors.
- File use/sales and business taxes. Assist our Corporate Tax department with required income tax schedules.
- Provide back-up for Payroll processing.
- Perform other duties, assignments and special projects that may be required.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
- MBA and/or CPA or CMA certificate is preferred.
- 3 years of accounting experience required.
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired.
- Proficiency and advanced knowledge of Excel required.
- Daily working knowledge of MS Office Suite required (including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Experience using JDE, Unicom, BNA, & Power BI is preferred.
Anticipated Salary Range : $68,731 - $117,825
