Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and will play a key role in supporting our financial operations, including month end and year end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory management, and audit preparation. You will also work closely with the operations and production teams to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions comply with GAAP and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
- Track prepaid expenses and accruals, including preparing and maintaining amortization schedules.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of fixed asset Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs), including the setup, tracking, and reporting of depreciation.
- Reconcile daily cash balances, ensuring accurate recording of cash transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of interim and year-end audits.
- Participate in various ad hoc projects as needed, providing financial insights and assistance.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for both manufactured and finished goods.
- Make necessary inventory adjustments based on cycle counts.
- Post all production-related entries in the system on a daily basis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions, ensuring consistency with financial records.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Experience with Financial ERP systems (e.g., Paycor, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage workload.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
