    This position is part of the human resources team specifically providing support to the School Support Coordinators. The person who holds this position must be able to provide exemplary customer service. They will have a large role in supporting applicants and onboarding new employees. Multitasking is a key component as a variety of tasks will be assigned to you such as data entry, completion of hiring forms, scheduling and participating during new hire orientations. This professional should be familiar with labor law and collective bargaining agreements (CBA) including interpretation and application. The employee who holds this position must have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive.     • Screen applications ensuring the applicant meets minimum qualifications, has a complete application and ensure the hiring practices outlined in the collective bargaining agreements are being followed.
    • Collaborate with the School Support Coordinators supporting data entry for the timely and accurate completion of HR processes.
    • Oversees pool postings by getting postings online, organizing and maintaining screening spreadsheets.
    • Send out Board approval letters following employment separations
    • Interpret and apply CBA language for the purpose of delivering services in conformance with established guidelines.
    • Enter pay for staff receiving stipends based upon negotiated agreements and regulations; issues and receives contracts for supplemental pay.
    • Responsible for the accuracy of compensation; input data and update information in the human resource information system (HRIS) specifically to support turning on and off pay for those on FMLA/PFML.
    • Field questions and provide accurate information to internal and external applicants regarding application status and hiring processes.
    • Coordinate the planning and execution of New Hire Orientations. This includes scheduling, setting up, break-down, sending out reminders, and assisting with presentations.
    • Set up New Hire personnel files to include labels, new hire paperwork, and letters of intent.
    • Complete verification of employment and experience for employees moving to other districts including transferring of sick leave when applicable.
    • Verify completion of SafeSchools/Vector trainings and new hire paperwork prior to attending orientation. Informing School Support Coordinator when items are not being completed.
    • Attends recruitment activities (e.g., job fairs, conferences, university events) for the purpose of attracting qualified administrative, certificated and classified candidates in support of district goals.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Serve as member of the Human Resources team of the District; perform other tasks, related duties, and special projects as directed.
    • Attend professional development to maintain knowledge of HR practices and procedures
    • Assist with athletic stipends
    • Assist with teacher certification compliance and tracking



    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education and Experience
    AA Degree
    Two years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources or related field
    (Additional related experience may be substituted for education requirement)

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and EXCEL
    Experience working in database systems

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
    Working Knowledge of Business Plus

    CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Criminal background clearance
    Valid Driver’s license
    Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis

    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint)

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly stand and walk, bend neck and back, use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee is frequently required to squat, kneel, use hands for fine manipulation, knee stand and push/pull. The employee will occasionally be required to sit, climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, crawl, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 5 pounds and must frequently lift /carry up to 10 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum weight of 100 pounds.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position constantly deals with frequent interruptions, demanding deadlines, and occasionally deals with angry and distraught employees and community members. Occasionally work overtime and/or weekends.

    WORK SCHEDULE
    This position typically works Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 260 days per year with 12 holidays per year.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
    This position reports to and is evaluated by Director of Human Resources or designee.

    LEVEL OF COMPENSATION
    Specialist level on non-represented salary schedule / $89,686.00; This position includes the following benefits prorated based on FTE – Medical, dental vision, sick and vacation leave, life insurance, professional development dollars, retirement.
