Role Description (Guardian of the person)
This is a full-time position for a Court Appointed Guardian of the Person at Federated Guardians in Beaver, PA. The Court Appointed Guardian will be responsible for advocating for the best interests of their client and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations as well as filing required reports timely. The individual works closely with clients, medical professionals, and attorneys to identify the needs and preferences of the client, to provide guidance and support with legal matters, healthcare coverage and medical decisions.
Some work from home is acceptable as approved by the director of the agency. The Guardian assignments may cover multiple counties, and extensive travel may be required. Mileage is reimbursed per IRS standards.
· Certification required within 1 year of hire
· Attend legal proceedings, court hearings
· Attend care plan conferences, ISP meetings
· Minimum of monthly meetings with documentation reports completed timely
· Comply with professional codes of ethics and standards of practice for guardians of the person
· Perform duties and discharge obligations in accordance with state regulations and federal law governing guardianships
· Comply with the requirements of the court that made the appointment
· Know the extent of the powers and limitations of authority granted by the court and all decisions and actions shall be consistent with the court order
· Obtain court authorization for actions that are subject to court approval
· Submit reports regarding the status of the guardianship to the court as ordered by the court or required by the state statute, but no less than annually
· Seek ongoing education regarding : Person centered planning, Surrogate decision making, Responsibilities & duties of guardianship, State certification of guardians
· Additional work responsibilities as directed by the employer
Qualifications
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to guardianship of the person
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills with the ability to workindependently and collaboratively with clients, families, attorneys, and medical professionals
- Educational degree or prior work history in social work, law,healthcare or a related field
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively under pressure
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Understanding of HIPA compliance and ethical and professional standards of conduct
- Prior work Experience in Medicaid, long-term care planning, Casemanagement is a plus

Salary : $40,000 - $45,000
Medical Insurance : Employee will pay a share of the monthly plan cost selected
PTO is accrued based on hours worked
