Job Description
In this role as a Freight Delivery Specialist at FedEx Freight, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and triples where applicable. You will also be required to perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment, hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies, and perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate tractor-trailers in compliance with all federal regulations.
- Perform daily safety inspections on equipment.
- Handle and secure freight using appropriate tools and supplies.
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
Requirements:
- Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple and hazardous materials endorsements.
- At least one year of experience within the last three years or completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
- Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations.
