Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples, on various road types and in different weather conditions.
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections to ensure the safety and readiness of vehicles.
- Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies from tractors and trailers.
- Handle freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Secure freight inside trailers using tools and supplies like pallets, straps, and rope.
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
- Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
- Collect cash or checks for freight charges and maintain necessary documentation.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
