Job Summary
Responsible for the planning and implementation of all inbound sort processes and staff training at the largest auto-stations in the company network. Duties include but are not limited to reviewing the use of the inbound planning tools, assessing inbound processes, and then creating and implementing improvement plans. Site visits also include training, coaching and supporting inbound sort personnel. Use QDM principals to ensure compliance to company processes, adherence to standards, and achievement of high load quality for Service Providers. Improve the effectiveness of local management through classroom workshops, and hands on dock training. Position is 100% travel.
Essential Functions
• Educates and Collaborates with District Engineering Specialists and station management on proper inbound sort operating procedures to improve inbound, P&D operational efficiency, as well as service efficiency.
• Conducts formal seminars to train sort managers, area managers and operations managers on engineering principles and inbound sort management
• Develops and assists in the implementation efforts of new technology for inbound dock operations Provides feedback and recommends corrective action to enhance the design and procedures of existing inbound operations.
• Understands inbound sort staffing plans and ensures proper staffing is recommended
• Audits and follows-up on newly implemented improvement initiatives to ensure inbound sort operating procedure compliance
• Customize and indentify needs for sort processes and procedures for equipment modifications and improvement
Minimum Education
• High School Diploma or GED and Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field required. In lieu of degree, four (4) additional years of relevant experience above the minimum experience will be considered equivalent.
Minimum Experience
• Four (4) years Field Operations Management required

• Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
• Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
• Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
• Web-based skills
• Vision and AMS proceudures
• Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers and meet time sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to identify problems and use fact-based analysis and procedure framework to develop effective and efficient solutions.
• Working knowledge of the IC and ISP models, preferred.
• Working knowledge of FedEx Ground and HD preload operations and engineering, required.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge of concepts, best practices, policies, and procedures related to FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery operations and engineering plans, routing systems and/or Vision/VRP, required.
• Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to districts, and station management.
• Ability and flexibility to travel up to 100% of the time is required; travel outside of domicile Region may be required.
