Overview of position:
FEDITC is seeking Production Engineer – Lead in the Warren, MI area.
This is an upcoming opportunity contingent on contract award with a projected start date of March 2025.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production and manufacturing processes for ground combat vehicles, ensuring alignment with DoD and military standards.
- Oversee supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient delivery of materials and products for defense or automotive projects.
- Coordinate and streamline production workflows, utilizing best practices to optimize output, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to production teams, ensuring timely project completion and adherence to technical requirements.
- Conduct process analysis, troubleshoot production issues, and implement corrective measures to ensure product quality and performance.
- Collaborate with military personnel, contractors, and cross-functional teams to integrate production requirements with design and operational needs.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations throughout the production lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or general Engineering from a college or university. May substitute this education requirement with four years of relevant production/supply chain experience in the automotive or defense industry.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or supply chain management within the DoD or automotive industries.
- Experience supporting the U.S. Army or DoD, including working with or on tracked or wheeled ground combat vehicles in either a military or civilian capacity (operator, maintainer, logistics, acquisition, or production).
Skills:
- Strong leadership and project management skills with extensive knowledge of production processes in the automotive or defense industry. Experience with supply chain management and production optimization techniques. Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and military vehicle production standards.
Clearance:
- Secret Clearance (or higher) required.
