We are currently in search of a Donation Valuation Specialist to join our Finance team! The Donation Valuation Specialist is responsible for obtaining and compiling proper documentation for all gift-in-kind donations. This position is also responsible for calculating warehouse inventory values and verifying the accuracy of outgoing shipments. This position will also work with other departments, including the distribution centers and the Logistics and Inventory Management department to ensure warehouse inventory accuracy. This position will also be responsible for the formation and maintenance of internal spreadsheet data bases. This position will report directly to the Controller.
Job Requirements:
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
3 years of clerical or office experience required
Experience with database and spreadsheet software required
Ability to use basic math and solving basic math problems including units of measure required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing deadlines required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook required
Ability to apply logic and reasoning in estimating and computing values using available data.
Prior AP/AR or other accounting experience preferred
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job may be considered.
Essential Functions:
Accurately and methodically calculate values for gift-in-kind-donations by researching values for donated product using the internet, catalogues, donor value guidance, and other relevant sources.
Accurately computes values by performing mathematical calculations and conversions of units of measure.
Reconciles shipping and receiving documents (such as Bills of Lading or Packing Lists) to receiving entity’s reports.
Ensures product donations and distributions are properly coded with respect to internally designated programs.
Oversees and keeps the internal value spreadsheet data base current.
Maintains a spreadsheet of International direct shipments showing different statuses and communicates with internal and external customers via email and phone to obtain proper documentation.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality which are critical in order to complete the day-to-day tasks of this position.
Ensures proper documentation and organization of each individual gift-in-kind procurement or shipping file and communicates with internal and external customers via email and phone to obtain proper documentation.
Reviews and ensures the accuracy of bypass account activity.
Fills in for other positions in the absence of other co-workers.
