DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Seeking a high-energy self-motivated individual with a passion for making & maintaining great work relationships with the communities we serve!

The Community Relations Coordinator is supported by the VP of Operations & manages the development, coordination and implementation of community relations, networking, and service programs. Additionally, coordinate public inquiries, press releases, social media postings and citizen engagement programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to our team, 3rd-party vendors & the public in the administration of community relations & service programs;
  • Promote & educate the public on company initiatives, coordinate campaigns and events for projects including contacting vendors, reserving space and equipment and organizing volunteer support;
  • Provide information and training to city staff and volunteers in matters of public information, communication and community service to ensure efficient and effective participation;
  • Maintain contact with authorized local, national and international media; develop comprehensive public information and communication programs to increase community awareness of service and offerings;
  • Coordinate community service volunteer programs including general oversight; maintain rosters and tracking program data; assist with volunteer recruitment; and provide program development, implementation and recognition and evaluation;
  • Maintain website and other social media outlets including developing clear, creative, and compelling content; monitor online content for accuracy; address corrections with those responsible for maintaining departmental website pages and social media sites;
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and analyze data for programs, events and projects;
  • Acts as primary contact for community relations and service programs; responds to requests for information; answers routine questions; and provides general communication efforts regarding community relations and service programs including media coverage;
  • Represents Feel Great Car Wash by responding to the public, citizens, its team members, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor;
  • Performance of other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience - Any combination of experience and training equivalent to an Associate’s degree in communications, English, social work, business administration, marketing, project management, or equivalent training or experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Confidentiality – Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Communication – Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Customer Service - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationshipswith employees, staff, Council members, officials and the public in a courteousmanner.
  • Technical Understanding – Process improvement, data processing, networkingknowledge, presenting technical information, operating systems, and working knowledge of scripting languages, phone systems. Ability to operate a personal computer and perform data entry processes. Accuracy in entries and maintaining records. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to lead others. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials and the public.Physical RequirementsThe essential functions require sustained periods of sitting and standing. The job requires frequent fine manipulations of occasional bending, stooping, grasping, pulling, pushing, reaching, and repetitive motion, with the necessity to carry and lift objects weighing up to ten (10) pounds. Hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to operate office equipment. Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone.Sensory RequirementsCommunity Relations Coordinator shall possess strong written, oral and communication skills.Office MachinesThe work requires the ability to operate the following office machines; telephone, fax, calculator, copy machines, document scanners, computer, tablet, laptop, shredders and printers, A/V equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
