What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Fehr & Peers?
As a graphic designer on our Corporate Communications team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we communicate across a variety of platforms.
From documents and presentations to social media and web content, you’ll create compelling visuals that bring ideas to life and enhance understanding. Comfortable with both storytelling and content, you’ll collaborate closely with transportation engineers, planners, and business professionals—helping to craft messages that are clear, engaging, and on-brand.
Along the way, you’ll deepen your knowledge of the transportation and Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry and be a trusted advisor in visual communication.
\n- Design compelling visuals that support storytelling, enhance understanding, and effectively communicate key messages.
- Collaborate with teams to shape content and develop designs for websites, social media, presentations, printed materials, and more.
- Ensure all designs align with brand identity guidelines and maintain a cohesive message.
- Stay current on design trends and tools, sharing insights and recommendations to enhance communication strategies.
- Support the design and layout of blog posts, intranet content, and other web communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in design, visual communications, UI/UX, or a related field.
- 3 years of design experience, with a portfolio showcasing relevant and recent design work (Required with application).
- Strong communication and consultative skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
- Ability to apply brand guidelines strategically to create cohesive designs that enhance messaging and engagement.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for learning, growing, and delivering creative solutions.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
- Experience with Figma, WordPress, and Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
Members of the Communications team are spread across three markets. Ideally, this person will be located near Roseville, California. In this position, you will be able to work most of the time remotely but are expected to be available to travel into the Roseville office at least twice a week and to the corporate office in Walnut Creek on an as-needed basis (typically quarterly). All days will be agreed upon in advance.

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
