Job Title : Inventory Analyst
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing inventory levels to ensure efficient supply chain operations. This role involves forecasting demand, monitoring stock levels, and implementing strategies to reduce costs while ensuring product availability. The Inventory Analyst works closely with purchasing, sales, operations, and warehouse teams to align inventory strategies with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
Inventory Management :
Implement and maintain effective inventory management policies and procedures.
Monitor inventory levels, identify purchasing needs, and ensure optimal stock availability.
Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and identify improvement areas.
Utilize inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems) to track product details, including quantities, batch numbers, and expiration dates.
Forecasting & Demand Planning :
Analyze inventory data to forecast future demand and establish reorder levels and safety stock thresholds.
Collaborate with sales, product development, and supply chain teams to align inventory strategies with market trends, seasonality, and business goals.
Vendor & Supplier Coordination :
Research and evaluate potential vendors to ensure cost-effective sourcing of products and services.
Track purchase orders, update internal databases with order details, and ensure timely delivery.
Build and maintain trust relationships with suppliers and evaluate their performance regularly.
Data Analysis & Reporting :
Prepare detailed reports on inventory performance, stock adjustments, turnover rates, and obsolescence.
Identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement using data analysis and reporting tools.
Present inventory insights and actionable recommendations to management.
Process Optimization :
Develop and implement strategies to minimize costs, reduce waste, and optimize operational efficiency.
Stay updated with the latest inventory management best practices and technologies.
Collaboration & Compliance :
Work closely with warehouse staff and other departments to meet inventory and business objectives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
2- 5 years of proven experience as an Inventory Analyst or in a similar inventory or supply chain role.
Strong knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred).
Good understanding of data analysis, forecasting methods, and inventory optimization techniques.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and trustworthy.
Schedule : Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm. This position will be 100% on-site and cannot be performed remotely. Candidates need to live in a close radius to Dallas, TX.
