Felician University, the Franciscan University of New Jersey is seeking an experienced Building and Grounds Assistant to perform a variety of tasks associated with the safety, repair and maintenance of the buildings and grounds at multiple sites of Felician University. The job responsibilities address a variety of tasks in the maintenance and repair of the buildings and grounds at multiple sites of the University, including but not limited to the areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, glazier, masonry and painting.
Required Education:
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in repair, maintenance and replacement in the areas of carpentry, painting, plumbing, glass replacement, masonry, appliance repair, HVAC, and electrical wiring.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks, including but not limited to climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time, lifting and carrying boxes, tools, equipment and building materials.
- Ability to maintain and utilize a variety of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to building and construction.
- Proven ability to read blueprints.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver’s License in good standing.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime on an as needed basis.
- Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English.
- Willingness and ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan mission and values of the University.
