What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preconstruction Manager position at Felix Construction?
Felix Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager which is an experienced role that creates value by leading the preconstruction phase of water/wastewater construction projects. It is a technical role that includes constructability and quality control reviews. This role also involves extensive client interaction and requires strong relationship building skills. Typically requires 8 years of experience in the water/wastewater construction industry and a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Assist with development of SOQ’s & APDM pursuits.
- Provide constructability and biddability reviews during the design phase of the project.
- Development and implementation of a risk registry & procurement plan that is in the best interest of the project.
- Build and maintain the project schedule during pre-construction with increasing detail as the design progresses with the final deliverable of a complete project schedule ready for construction.
- Facilitate team building and conflict resolution with internal and external customers.
- Develop quality control plans, construction management plans, or other pre-construction service requirements of the client.
- Assure that each pre-construction deliverable undergoes a thorough quality control review and that all deficiencies are corrected prior to submittal to agencies or clients.
- Coordinate and track deliverables during the pre-construction phase to keep the project progressing on schedule.
- Coordinate and procure the necessary permits from the required agencies.
- Participate in or conduct public outreach and information meetings as required.
- Manage and monitor multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Conduct subcontractor and vendor outreach as needed for project participation.
- Build relationships with industry contacts (owners, engineers, subcontractors).
- May participate in interviews and conduct bid recaps during pre-construction
WHO YOU ARE
- Typically requires 8 years of experience in the water/wastewater construction industry and a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent.
- Advanced technical skills with Adobe or Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
- Contributes to the development of the department. Is not hesitant to raise concerns or ask questions in order to meet performance goals.
- Acts with a clear sense of ownership and follows through on commitments.
