Felsburg Holt & Ullevig is seeking a motivated Bridge Engineering Intern to join our structures group. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on transportation structure projects across the Rocky Mountain region. We are looking for an enthusiastic intern who is eager to learn and contribute to projects that positively impact and improve our local communities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the analysis and design of transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and box culverts under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Supporting the preparation of plans, reports, and specifications for projects.
- Gaining exposure to engineering software and design tools to assist in project development.
- Participating in field observation work alongside mid-level or senior engineers when necessary.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support project success.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an accredited school.
- Prior coursework or project experience related to structural engineering is preferred.
- Previous internship or related experience in bridge and structural engineering is a plus.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic knowledge of structural analysis techniques and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and CDOT Bridge Design Policies and Procedures is a plus.
- Experience with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other structural analysis tools is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
- Passion for gaining hands-on experience in transportation structure design and analysis.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Engineering Intern (EI) certification or intent to obtain in the future is encouraged but not required.

The pay for this position starts at $23.00 per hour
