Position : Sales Manager - Residential Fencing & Decking

Company : Fence & Deck Connection

Location : Annapolis, Maryland (Office or Hybrid)

Compensation : $100K commensurate with experience

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Responsible for managing the sales team, including developing and implementing sales

strategies, coaching and mentoring sales representatives, fostering a customer-centric

culture, while focused on achieving company sales objectives. This role will report to the

Director of Sales.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Achieve sales growth targets, including category-based goals, revenue goals and margin goals.
  • Work directly with salespeople in the field and in the office, developing their skills and managing their behavior.
  • Identify individual development needs by salesperson and implement those plans to address those needs.
  • Establish effective sales targets by salesperson and implement reporting systems to manage performance.
  • Ensure all sales personnel effectively utilize the Fence & Deck Connection sales process and sales training programs.
  • Ensure all sales personnel effectively utilize technology tools to manage their sales activity.
  • Recruit new sales personnel, as necessary.
  • Establish effective pricing policies and strategies to successfully close new business and grow revenue lines within existing customers.
  • Visit customers regularly, with salespeople and individually.
  • Proactively identify customer needs and implement sales and operational approaches to meet those needs.
  • Work with internal departments to facilitate sales growth and customer retention.
  • Attend local and national industry conferences and events as appropriate.
  • Hold effective sales meetings to keep sales personnel informed regarding company performance, market conditions, and other important issues.
  • Implement group-based training for the sales team (usually at sales meetings), to develop team skills.
  • Manage all activities associated with the Sales Team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

  • SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree a plus, but not required.
  • Highly detail-oriented, ability to manage and prioritize a high number of opportunities simultaneously.
  • Ability to leverage technology to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire sales representatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of sales principles, strategies, and best practices.
  • Ability to proficiently utilize Company CRM software and other programs / sales tools. Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
