Director of Brand Stores

Are you an experienced retail leader passionate about driving operational excellence and creating memorable customer experiences? We’re looking for a Director of Brand Stores to oversee Fjällräven’s retail locations! In this role, you’ll collaborate with senior leadership, manage store operations, and ensure our brand presence and guest experience are at the forefront of everything we do. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team, drive profitability, and contribute to our sustainable growth plans.

This is a full-time, exempt position based out of our Louisville, CO corporate offices and reporting to the CFO/COO.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Brand & Customer Experience

• Partner with North American leadership to define and implement retail store strategies that align with company goals
• Drive onboarding and training programs to ensure best-in-class guest experience across all locations
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to operational systems, processes, and structures to support growth
• Develop and monitor benchmarks for guest engagement and retention initiatives
• Oversee local marketing and sustainability initiatives to strengthen brand presence in store markets
• Work closely with the marketing and visual merchandising teams to enhances customer experience and brand presentation

Team Development

• Collaborate with HR to develop talent strategies that attract, onboard, and retain top talent
• Provide leadership to Regional Retail Managers, ensuring consistency in guest experience, training, and visual merchandising
• Strengthen training and onboarding programs to support employee engagement, product knowledge, and operational excellence
• Ensure retail teams are following performance development protocols, including regular coaching, clear expectations, and effective communication

Operations & Profitability

• Manage store opening processes, including site selection, design, and brand initiatives
• Monitor and analyze key operational metrics such as sales, costs, inventory, and shrinkage
• Implement best practices for store audits, retail policies, and standard operating procedures
• Promote sustainability efforts, seeking opportunities to minimize our environmental impact
• Work closely with Finance and Accounting to manage store P&L, identify trends, and implement growth strategies
• Lead initiatives to enhance sales performance, controlling labor costs while maximizing conversion rates and profitability

WHO YOU ARE

Experience and Technical Skills

• Eight or more years of progressive retail leadership, including multi-store management
• Proven success in driving retail sales growth and operational efficiency, preferably with outdoor or lifestyle brands
• Deep understanding of retail operations and guest experience strategies
• Experience managing 20 retail locations with a focus on scaling operations
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM and retail management systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time across the US and Canada

The expected compensation for this role is $145,000-$175,000 annually, with opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
