What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabric Treater- Flex Shift position at Fenner, Inc.?
Basic Scope/Purpose: (The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)
The Fabric Treater will treat all woven liners to meet both internal and external specifications and customer’s expectations.
Principal Accountabilities: (The job’s essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
Level I
- Preshrink and/or heat set liners based on Treater Work Order.
- Support process to make resin and adhesive mixes according to the Mixing Work Order.
- Support treating liners according to the processing instructions on the Treating Work Order.
- Primary responsibility is back of the treat line, cleanliness maintenance, and support.
- Knowledge to validate correct resin using documented run specifications.
- Support application of correct adhesive to the back and/or face using documented run specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace using the “6S” system.
- Properly handling hazardous waste and appropriately storing items.
- Embrace change in the work environment to maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Adjust schedule to fluctuate work priorities as needed.
- Considers the safety of self and others while performing job responsibilities and understands Supervisor must be notified of unsafe conditions.
- Strive to maintain a positive work environment.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Level II
- Lead process of Preshrink and/or heat set liners based on Treater Work Order.
- Lead composition of resin and adhesive mixes according to the Mixing Work Order and maintain the balance of required materials throughout the shift.
- Oversight on the entire process to treat liners according to the processing instructions on the Treating Work Order.
- Apply correct resin using documented run specifications and drive process of validation.
- Complete all paperwork in completion to provide support to process efficiency analysis and improvement initiatives.
- Apply correct adhesive to the back and/or face using documented run specifications. Troubleshooting when errors arise and working with management and engineering to establish solutions.
- Prepare chemicals for shipment to customers.
- Accurately enter information in the DSI work order system.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace using the “6S” system. Promoting and encouraging the team to adopt these principles.
- Properly handling hazardous waste and appropriately storing items.
- Embrace change in the work environment to maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Adjust schedule to fluctuate work priorities as needed.
- Considers the safety of self and others while performing job responsibilities. Understands Supervisor must be notified of unsafe conditions.

Level III
- Lead process of Preshrink and/or heat set liners based on Treater Work Order and troubleshoot when issues arise.
- Lead composition of resin and adhesive mixes according to the Mixing Work Order and maintain the balance of required materials throughout the shift.
- Oversight on the entire process to treat liners according to the processing instructions on the Treating Work Order and troubleshooting capabilities to provide solutions to unforeseen issues as they arise.
- Apply correct resin using documented run specifications and drive process of validation.
- Complete all paperwork in completion to provide support to process efficiency analysis and improvement initiatives.
- Apply correct adhesive to the back and/or face using documented run specifications. Troubleshooting when errors arise and working with management and engineering to establish solutions.
- Prepare chemicals for shipment to customers.
- Accurately enter information in the DSI work order system.
- Validation of paperwork completions and investigations and corrections to incomplete paperwork packets.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace using the “6S” system. Promoting and encouraging the team to adopt these principles.

Education and/or Relative Experience: (The level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.)

o High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

o Minimum of ONE year in position and ability to display competency in the associated designations in the description.

o Minimum of FOUR years in the position and evidence of strong leadership capabilities and process knowledge.
