For over 100 years, YMCA Camp Cormorant has offered spirit, tradition, leadership, and exceptional facilities to campers. Founded in 1903, Camp Cormorant is one of the oldest overnight camps in the entire nation. The camp is nestled on 80 acres of wooded property with an extensive beachfront on Big Cormorant Lake. We are located approximately six miles south of Lake Park, MN, in the heart of Minnesota lakes country. No day at camp is just a typical day. The YMCA Camp Cormorant offers more than just a job - we offer the chance to make a lasting difference for the youth in our community!
This position assists the Head Cook in ordering, preparing and serving healthy meals to the staff and campers at the camp.
- Ensures that that American Camping Association (ACA) standards are followed
- Assists the Head Cook in the operation of the kitchen
- Assists in the planning and execution of special events and Cooking Camp
- Supervises meals and special events in the absence of the Head Cook
- Works with the Counselors in Training (CITs) in washing dishes and serving snacks
- Meets the appropriate health standards and regulations
- Assists with cleaning the dining hall and bathrooms attached to the dining hall
- Assures laundry facilities are kept organizes
- Assists in Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) paperwork
Requirements
1. At least 18 years of age
2. 6 months experience working with youth
3. CPR for Adult, Infant, and Child / First Aid Certification must be complete prior to camp start date
5. Current driver's license and YMCA insurance approved driving record
