Ferguson Animal Hospital is looking to hire a veterinary assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position. Compensation for this role is a $15- $17 / hour based on experience with opportunities for overtime. Responsibilities

  • Patient Care : Assist in the care and treatment of animals, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
  • Clinical Procedures : Perform diagnostic tests (blood work, urine analysis, X-rays), assist in surgeries, and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Medical Recordkeeping : Maintain accurate and updated medical records.
  • Client Communication : Educate pet owners on animal care, health conditions, and post-operative care instructions.
  • Pharmacy : Prepare and dispense medications, ensuring proper dosage and administration instructions.
  • Animal Restraint : Safely and gently restrain animals during procedures and exams to ensure safety for both the animal and the veterinary team.
  • Other duties as assigned

    • Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Veterinary experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Ability to walk, stand, and bend for sustained periods
  • Ability to use hand and arms to handle and position animals, materials, equipment
