About the position
The investment operations manager is a dynamic role committed to ensuring client portfolios reflect accurate investment activity, holdings, asset pricing and relevant account specific information. This role is also responsible for the procedures and applications used downstream, including the accurate reflection of clients’ account values, performance and reporting both digitally and via paper statements. The ideal candidate has experience and an eye to enhancing core business systems and procedures within the investment operations and trading departments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the timeliness and accuracy of investment accounting information, which include but are not limited to security and portfolio attribution, reconciliation, performance, pricing and transactional data
- Manage vendor relationships, including outsource provider, accounting system, alternative investment reporting system
- Partner with the trading and investment teams to establish and maintain procedures for reconciliation of data
- Gather and document workflows and procedures
- Identify inefficiencies and establish system/process improvement goals and objectives for investment operation functions
- Coordinate project meetings with management, subject matter experts and end users to solicit business and functional requirements
- Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Two years or more experience in trading or investment operations, or equivalent experience in an operational role within the financial services industry
- Two years or more experience in one or more of the following business units: trading, investment operations, research, portfolio engineering or compliance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience investigating, documenting and improving existing processes
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; must be detail orientated
- Strong sense of ownership and commitment to outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
- Experience using data administration tools (such as Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL, SSRS, etc.) to conduct analysis and build interim process solutions as needed
- Experience using any of the following is a plus: Axys, APX, Black Diamond, Bloomberg Terminals, Factset, or Eze Castle
Compensation and benefits:
- Salary consistent with industry norms, experience, and potential, ranging from $80,000 - $100,000
