Position Overview

The Investment Operations Analyst is responsible for the preparation of standardized client investment deliverables, the collection and maintenance of investment data, and coordinating investment changes for Multnomah Group clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Investment reports

Gather client asset and investment data and enter data into internal database

  • Generate quarterly investment reports
  • Provide quality assurance reviews of quarterly investment reports
  • Generate investment reports to support the Investment Committee review of clients’ investment products
  • Investment changes
  • Initiate investment change business processes in the CRM system

  • Verify availability of investment options on a recordkeeping platform
  • Prepare the investment change recommendation deliverable
  • Communicate approved investment changes with the clients’ recordkeeping vendors, coordinating the implementation with the client, consultant, and recordkeeper, review the recordkeeping paperwork, and updating internal systems to reflect the investment change
  • Investment menu design
  • Prepare investment menu presentations for clients’ investment menu

  • Categorize new client’s investment options into a standard menu format
  • Share class review
  • Maintain internal systems to track lowest cost share classes

  • Review investment menus to identify opportunities for lower cost share class product
  • Verify availability of lower cost share classes with recordkeeping vendors
  • Document client decisions
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated to achieve objectives
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical mindset
  • Ability to communicate professionally with clients and vendors
  • Interest in learning the investment industry
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Focus of Development

  • Understanding of investment vehicles
  • Mastery of internal tools to execute the primary responsibilities of the investment operations analyst role
  • General investment industry knowledge through completion of the CFA Institute’s Investment Foundations Certificate
  • General retirement plan industry knowledge through completion of ASPPA’s Retirement Plan Fundamentals coursework
  • Enrollment in the CFA or CIPM program
