The expected hiring range for this position is :
75,800.00-$107,667.00.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

About the Role :
Under limited direction of the Senior Talent Acquisition and Development Manager, the Instructional Design and LMS Specialist is responsible for assisting with designing web-based courses to support employee training and development and managing the organization's and managing the organization's learning management system (LMS). This role will interface with the Senior Instructional Design and LMS Specialist, learners, and the Enterprise Applications team to resolve learner issues, provide training on systems capabilities and complete testing for periodic system upgrades.
What your day-to-day as an Instructional Design and LMS Specialist at Fermilab will look like :
- Works closely with SMEs to develop curriculum using Fermilab's Instructional Design Manual and Branding documents for web-based development in Articulate Storyline.
- Designs and develops training materials, including web-based training, job aids, and other training resources for the Laboratory.
- Designs ADA-compliant, engaging, and effective learning experiences using Articulate Storyline and other tools provided by the Laboratory, while delivering high-quality support for requests managed within the learning management system.
- Develops assessment methods, such as knowledge checks, to evaluate the effectiveness of web-based course designs and implement necessary improvements.
- Collaborates with SME's and other sources and incorporate expertise to develop interactive course content, learning objectives, and knowledge checks.
- Serves as an LMS administrator, demonstrating knowledge of the LMS's features and functions, and troubleshooting user interface issues, navigation challenges, new implementations, configurations, and other obstacles related to the system, and aide in testing for periodic system upgrades.
- Acts as an LMS resource to the Talent Development team including resolving issues, providing support and training to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assists with the management and track keeping of the laboratory's portfolio of learning assets within the LMS e.g., courses and their content, course completions, categories, course contacts, etc. to mitigate course redundancies, and ensure accurate course categories and descriptions.
- Monitors, evaluates, and documents the Lab's training and development efforts to meet DOE performance measures and comply with Laboratory policies, DOE Orders and State and Federal laws.
- Provides excellent customer service and work effectively as a team member with all Laboratory staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
