What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Fernway Procurement LLC?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Manager to lead the day-to-day production operations at our Lawnside, NJ production facility. This role involves managing the production team (~16 team members) and is critical in ensuring that all production processes are optimized, compliant, and meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, strong leadership skills, and a dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient workplace that is a great place to work.
Responsibilities:
- Manage production team employees, including hiring, training, and development.
- Oversee the execution of the production plan.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed by production team members.
- Run regular meetings including employee check-ins and reviews.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that products are available for sales.
- Develop daily, weekly and monthly plans and communicate plans to team for execution.
- Work with Inventory Specialist and Ops Support Manager to ensure materials are available and prepared to fulfill production demand.
- Manage cannabis waste and QC disposal.
- Communicate stock-outs, new releases, shortages, etc. to stakeholders (sales, corporate staff, leadership, etc.).
- Work with QA team to collection production data and conduct analysis to identify areas of improvement.
- Ensure the site is maintaining compliance with local and CRC regulations.
- Prepare reports on metrics and other departmental KPIs.
- Manage scheduling and resource allocation for the department.
Qualifications:
- 21 years old (regulatory requirement)
- 1-3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role
- 3 years Cannabis experience
- Ability to meet all cannabis regulatory requirements
- Ability to physically maintain consistent and repetitive manual work, with lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime shifts or weekends
- Proven ability to meet production goals within an established timeline
- Knowledge of Metrc, Acumatica, or other tracking software
- Strong production and manufacturing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product
- Dependable, professional and confident, with regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction
