The Corporate Sanitation Program Specialist supports the development, implementation and continuous improvements of the sanitation programs, policies, and key performance indicators (KPI's) for all facilities.
The role is based in Chicago, Illinois and will require both domestic and international travel approximately 25% of the time. This is a hybrid role.

Responsible for compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance with all food safety policies and procedures.
Evaluates facility sanitary conditions visually and analytically, assesses risk based on food safety and public health principles and prioritizes corrective actions.
Works closely with engineering and maintenance to identify capital expense needs and ensure appropriate preventative maintenance programs are utilized.
Knowledge of equipment design for effective sanitation, sanitary design for regulated foods preferred.
Sets the direction for ongoing sanitation verification activities and validation testing.
Pest control experience to include stored product pest management.
Supports plants' development of master cleaning schedule to meet Corporate MSS & GMP requirements.
Able to collaborate with plant teams to develop validated and verifiable SSOP's.
Audits against the consistent application and execution of SSOP's and all related sanitation practices.
Serves as a sanitation resource for plants HACCP and Food Safety teams.
Engages technical internal experts, industry experts, and chemical / equipment suppliers to troubleshoot any sanitation challenges and identify novel technologies and methodologies that improve sanitation effectiveness.
Solicits recommendations from industry experts to improve sanitation efficacy.
Leads projects to problem solve or control variability.
Develops and implements sanitation related training for employees as needed.
Ensures all safety requirements related to sanitation are met, including proper chemical storage, SDSs, PPEs and procedures.
Skills that will make you successful
Understands and can apply basic microbiological principles to include food borne pathogens
Knowledge of HACCP, FSMA and Sanitation principles
Understands appropriate wet cleaning and dry-cleaning methodology
Able to identify the appropriate cleaning method and can synthesize knowledge to evaluate situations and make effective recommendations based on scientific principles
Experience in successfully addressing environmental sanitation challenges in areas such as drains, floors, walls, roofs, and equipment
Thorough knowledge and experience with diverse sanitizing applications
Understands the principles behind verification and validation methods and has experience in application
Effective written and oral communication.
Ability to engage all levels of employees and ability to work effectively with a team
Knowledge of food laws, U.S. standards and regulations
Knowledge and experience working with both COP and CIP operations
Computer skills required-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
The ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Experiences that will support your success
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years' experience in plant sanitation
