Summary:
The Lead Yard Technician will perform a variety of tasks that aid both our office and field teams. This position is responsible for the management of the Yard team through coaching and the completion of necessary tasks. This role is the first stop for field team orders and should ensure these orders are completed accurately. In addition, this role is responsible for maintaining an adequate tool crib and materials inventory. To perform this position sufficiently, the employee must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily. The below descriptions represent, but do not limit, the duties expected of this position.
Five Key Roles of the Yard Foreman:
· Management of Yard Technician Team: Including keeping on track for daily tasks, mentoring, coaching, disciplinary action, performance reviews, etc.
· Maintain open communication with Field Supervision Teams, the Yard Foreman is the first call for order requests or issues.
· Purchase Order Management: Ensure all orders have a P.O. attached in inventory management system. Validate inventoried items quarterly to ensure system is up to date.
· Ensure all orders are completed timely and with 100% accuracy.
· Tool Crib and Materials Inventory: Ensure tool crib and yard materials are stocked appropriately for the needs of the business as set by Shop Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Ensure all large purchase orders are approved by the Shop Manager prior to ordering.
· Landscape maintenance of building areas as directed by Shop Manager.
· General maintenance and upkeep of office as directed by Shop Manager.
- Staging, organizing, and cleaning up work areas.
- Loading and unloading equipment from trucks and haulers.
- Transporting materials as directed by Shop Manager.
- Work with Yard personnel on projects and tasks.
- Ensure smooth communication with both field and office staff.
- Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics.
- Other relevant tasks as assigned.
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
· Prior warehouse and landscaping experience preferred
· Experience with power tools preferred
Travel:
Travel to job sites may be required. Fessler & Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable.
Work Environment:
As a Yard Foreman, you will be subject to various work environments. Environments include but are not limited to the following: high/low temperatures, areas close to traffic, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, heights, indoor/outdoor settings.
