Job Responsibilities
- Orders and received medication from appropriate source and conducts inventory of controlled substances
- Reports all variances as required by state and federal regulations
- Prepares accurately medication doses for patients in levels and dosage amounts as prescribed
- Keeps adequate control over requesting and dispensing of all drugs and pharmaceutical supplies
- Reviews and interprets the prescription of inpatient and outpatient using computerized patient profiles to ensure the appropriateness of dosage and to determine the significance of potential drug-drug interactions
- Contacts and confers with healthcare provides concerting the appropriate drug, dose, interval, drug allergy and drug-drug interaction
- Fills automated dispensing machines and accurately prepares and dispenses appropriate amount of inpatient and outpatient medication.
- Active License in the State of Florida as Registered Pharmacist
- Graduated from accredited school of Pharmacy as Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D. or equivalent
- Experience working in substance/behavioral treatment center required
- Current CPR Certification preferred
- Proof of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training or must be obtained
