FMI's manufacturing facility has been a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for more than 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.
Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.
Your role: FMI is seeking a Supply Chain Manager! The Supply Chain Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction while coordinating production planning, raw material inventory, warehousing, materials and vendor risk management, and distribution to control costs, and improve delivery accuracy and customer service at our Biddeford, Maine locations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Production Planning and Release, Inventory Control (RM and WIP), Warehouse, materials and vendor risk management, and Shipping/Receiving processes and activities
- Manage day to day Supply Chain activities and priorities supporting production and technology development projects
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans in pursuit of business objectives
- Manage and develop relationships with external logistics partners (both LTL, TL, and ITL)
- Manage utilization and data integrity of ERP system to deliver superior delivery performance
- Coach, support, and develop employees on your team to foster effective communication, collaboration, teamwork, and execution while demonstrating and modeling the core values
- Interface with cross-functional team including production, engineering, quality, purchasing, and contracts to ensure production schedules are fulfilled based on customer forecasts
- To drive Continuous Improvement by defining Measures of Performance, implementing controls and taking corrective actions in support of reduced cost, reduced lead time, and improved On Time Delivery
- Manage departmental budgets
- Conduct performance appraisals, set annual goals and objectives, complete regular feedback sessions, review training and development needs
- Ensure team is knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies, practices, and standards
- Ensure team is compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures
What we need from you:
- 4 Year College Degree or equivalent experience in related field (Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering)
- 4 years material planning or supply chain experience
- 2 year of experience in Supply Chain Management or related field
- Understanding of manufacturing supply chain systems, warehouse, and shop floor control
- Strong communication skills with customer focus (internal and external)
- Proficiency in Manufacturing Execution System/Production Execution Systems
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PP, Outlook)
- Exemplary work ethic and attention to detail
- Lean Manufacturing skills desired
