When You Join Our Team, You Will:
- Work within a team environment
- Generate designs for new projects based on customer requirements
- Devise methods of improving existing designs from both a cost and functional perspective
- Develop network designs using information provided by field collectors, customers, and Engineers to support field staking, permitting, contracting, and construction
- Analyze information gathered to determine routing as the work requires
- Maintain designs and drawings in FiberSmith’s document management system
- Assist in developing accurate cost projections of designs to support decision making, contracting, and eventual construction
- Become and stay knowledgeable on relevant products which may be applicable to customers’ needs in the opto-electric, laser and fiber optic fields
- Provide services in a professional manner, adhering to all FiberSmith standards as identified and communicated in subsequent employee training
- Generate field maps for use during staking and inspection
- Create and update digital maps reflective of customer requirements
- Run analysis on fiber routes and described network assets (e.g., homes within a given proximity to fiber plant)
- Collect or oversee collection of data on points of interest in the field, including poles, foreign utilities, and other features as necessary, using Trimbles, Topcons, Ikes and similar units
- Identify, meet and/or exceed client expectations within defined parameters related to delivery of services, quality, revenue, and sales goals
- Develop and maintain technical competencies as defined by departmental management.

To Be Considered, You Will Need:
- Minimum high school diploma with 3 years practical experience in OSP design, FTTH preferable, OR college degree and some applicable experience
- Proficiency with GIS software, CAD, Arc, SQL
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail and accountability/organizational skills
- Flexibility, innovation, troubleshooting, and problem solving
- Project and team skills with ability to improve overall skill set and performance of team
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills as well as customer and/or vendor interface experience both written and verbal demonstrating professionalism and initiative
- Self-directed, ability to multi-task and manage priorities
- Quick to learn with demonstrated ability to teach peers and other team members and/or assign work as necessary
- Experience with Bill of Materials, Engineering Change Notices, and other Engineering documentation
- Initiative and seeks career growth
- Willingness to travel up to 10-15% for shows, job sites, etc.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
