Chef (Full-Time)
- Maintain a positive team environment and ensure a professional upscale guest experience
- Address customer complaints effectively and timely, resolving issues while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels
- Thoroughly understand the menus and ingredients, including allergens
- Assist ownership with menu development and refinement as needed
- Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items (breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as grab & go and catering events)
- Ensure food is promptly and properly prepared and plated
- Comply with all portion size, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures; maintain food, ware, utensils, equipment and food services areas in a clean and orderly manner
- Label, date and enclose all food product, adhering to all required procedures
- Perform opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
- Stock food storage areas, assists in inventory and cost control, and communicate with management when supplies are needed; log in and thoroughly inspect deliveries and outside venders
- Provide training, supervision and coordination of the kitchen team, including check lists, side-work and shift transitions
- Perform administration duties as needed, including compiling reports for ownership;note this job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed
Environment/Requirements/Skills:
- Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hour shifts; ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe to perform essential job functions; ability to pick up items up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods; organized, quick thinking and can multitask; excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; positive attitude, cheerful outlook and high energy level
- Basic administrative skills, including use of Microsoft Office programs
- Basic knowledge of all local ABC, OSHA, labor, health department, fire life safety, and building department regulations (including emergency procedures)
- Hold Lexington-Fayette Food Safety Manager Training Certification
- Successful criminal background check and professional references may be required
