Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure they meet local codes and regulations.
- Test fire alarm systems using hand tools and voltmeters to detect any issues or malfunctions.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to understand system layouts and configurations.
- Perform routine maintenance on fire alarm systems, including replacing batteries and components as needed.
- Collaborate with clients to explain inspection findings and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of all services performed.
- Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and best practices related to fire alarm systems.
Experience
- Proven experience in field service related to fire alarm systems or similar low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with fire sprinkler fitting is a plus.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of system design principles.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools for installation and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical systems is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to detect issues quickly and efficiently.
