Job Description:
The Role
The Immigration Specialist will support Fidelity’s US Immigration program, working with the Director of Immigration, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and business collaborators. In this role, you will serve as a liaison between employees, outside legal counsel, and key stakeholders on nonimmigrant visas and the employment-based Green card program (PERM) for Fidelity’s US based associates.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalency)
- 2-4 years’ experience in corporate HR functions including administering policies and procedures, recruiting, maintaining employee records
- Ability to Function well as part of a geographically distributed team in a fast-paced, customer focused environment that demands creativity, energy, flexibility, and excellence
- Customer centric approach to working with partners and ability to resolve delicate situations with diplomacy - cross cultural sensitivity is important
- A focused, organized, and systematic ability to accomplishing tasks and achieving goals, effectively balancing speed, and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with government agency officials, business partners, legal counsel, associates, and their managers
- Willingness to be flexible and able to respond to shifting demands and priorities
The Value You Deliver
- Providing ongoing immigration support and consultation to managers, associates, and business partners as needed on requirements, processes, and updates
- Disseminating information regarding internal policies and processes throughout the Fidelity community (HR, Hiring Manage, and employees) through the company's internal portal as well as other means of communication.
- Maintaining accurate case documentation and correspondence regarding employees in case management tool
- Developing processes to track status of nonimmigrant work visas and permanent residency applications.
- Initiating new matters and reports using internal and external database/systems
- Coordinating internal recruitment process in connection with Labor Certification/PERM matters and assisting in the review of all resumes received in connection with such cases
- Stay up to date of foreign national employees' job changes (locations, duties, terminations) to ensure compliance with visa status
