What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Fidelity Labs position at Fidelity Investments?
The Head of Fidelity Labs leads the incubation and launch of new commercial software businesses and is accountable for the revenue and business outcomes of the Labs portfolio.
The Head of Fidelity Labs will be responsible for the continued evolution of the strategy underpinning the Labs operating model. They oversee the sourcing, evaluation, and validation of new ideas as well as the creation of business plans to launch new businesses into market. The accountability includes the development of business operations and go-to-market capabilities that support the scaling of revenue.
Founded in 2005, Fidelity Labs has played a critical role in driving growth and innovation for the firm. It has a portfolio of new businesses and is constantly prototyping concepts for Fidelity’s next new ventures. Reporting directly to the President of Enterprise Services at Fidelity Investments, this leader will manage teams across the portfolio.

Our small, multidisciplinary teams include developers, data scientists, designers, product managers, sales, operations, and business associates. Some are former entrepreneurs, and others were previously professionals from all different industries. The Experience and Skills You Bring
- Demonstrated operational experience as senior leader in financial services and or in a fintech start-up
- Technical acumen needed to operate several technical programs in production
- Experience with the software-as-a-service business model and their critical success measures including unit economics
- Demonstrated competencies to negotiate and influence at all levels within an organization
- Strong communications and ability to translate business context, challenges and strategy
- Innovative, forward-thinker who quickly understands the context, comfortable challenging the status quo and making tough decisions
- Strong interpersonal and organization skills including the ability to lead by influence and build relationships at all organization levels
- Ability to attract and grow talent
